Ko'e Ukir / Carved Ko'e

Carved Ko'e means a carved wicker basket in Tetum. It is crafted using leaves obtained from palmyra palm which extensively grows at the coast of Timor Island. The distinctiveness of this basket lies on the patterns carved on the outer side of the wall which gives an aesthetic pleasure.

In rural communities, the basket is used to store fabrics, household appliances as well as crops. It requires painstaking attention to detail and finest palmyra leaves to produce a premium

Every product is handcrafted by our Mamas in Timor Island using natural fibers from their home turf. It means that each of them may feature imperfections and has its own uniqueness, originality and attention to detail, which make every product different from others, no two are exactly the same.

Care Instruction
Store the product in a cool, dry place. If exposed to water, gently wipe your item with clean cloth and allow it to air dry. Do not put heavy things inside to prevent permanent deformation.
